Liberty Collection

Liberty prints were originally created in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty for his department store in London, Liberty. The traditional fabric prints known as “art fabrics” were of rich florals, traditional paisleys and a classic peacock feather print. Arthur Liberty collaborated with William Morris, a proponent and leader of the Arts and Crafts Movement. The store was also synonymous with the Art Nouveau movement and both these influences are evident in their prints. Today, Tamara Salman, a famous textile designer, updates and expands the original line of Liberty prints.
